Develop Responsible Outlook For Plastic (D.R.O.P)

IPCA, in collaboration with Kia India, conceptualized Project D.R.O.P. (Develop Responsible Outlook for Plastic) in January 2023 as a CSR initiative focused on responsible plastic waste management.

The project demonstrates how behavioural change, combined with the right infrastructure and community participation, can create measurable environmental impact.

The project began with a simple idea: plastic waste cannot be managed unless people at the source understand their role. “Awareness without action doesn’t work, and infrastructure without awareness fails just as quickly.” Conceptualised to bridge this gap, D.R.O.P. connects citizens, waste systems, and recyclers into a closed-loop model. Implemented across Delhi, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Ambala, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Zirakpur, the project is currently in its third phase. The installation of community bins, made entirely from recycled plastic waste, at identified locations is a testament to the project’s commitment to the circular economy, encouraging responsible plastic use and creating lasting change in communities.
